The German state of Saarland will have DTT coverage before the end of the year, the Landesmedienanstalt Saarland (LMS) has said. The media authority has opened up the application process for private broadcasters and according to managing director Gerd Bauer a number of parties have expressed interest. Saarland is the last German state to get digital terrestrial broadcasts. In 2008 all major DTT transmitters should be on air in the whole of Germany; analogue switch-off is planned for 2010.
