The Polish DTT consortium POT has begun test transmissions in Warsaw and a location named Srem near the western city of Poznan. According to the consortium, which is composed of the national commercial broadcasters Polsat and TVN, they will be undertaken until further notice and employ both MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 compression. HD (1080i) and DVB-H will be trialled in the tests, which are currently transmitting the TV channels Polsat, TVN and TV4. Although Poland does not yet have a national DTT platform, the public broadcaster TVP, which has steadfastly refused to cooperate with POT, operates limited services in parts of the country.
