ANGA CABLE – Cologne. The Anga Cable show and conference closed with a record number of attendees and exhibitors. For the first time, more than 10,000 trade visitors attended. Gross exhibition space was more than 20,000 sq m, with 367 companies from 31 countries present (compared with 308 exhibitors, 9,400 visitors the previous year).
The German cable network operators’ willingness to invest, as well as the high percentage of international visitors, contributed to the general upbeat mood. This year more than half the visitors and exhibitors were from outside Germany, Peter Charisse, MD of Anga, told Broadband TV News. (See next week’s New Television Insider for more Anga coverage and an interview with Charisse).
“The past three days sent a clear positive signal into the market”, said Thomas Braun, president of Anga Verband Deutscher Kabelnetzbetreiber. “Network operators are really giving full speed now. Following the network upgrading, we see growing bandwidths and product bundles nearly every day. We intend to multiply the numbers of our triple play customers by next year.”
And for your diaries: the next Anga Cable will take place 27 – 29 May 2008, again in Cologne, but with a new name: Anga Cable – Trade Fair for Cable, Broadband and Satellite.
