The Polish new generation DTH platform n has made a better than expected start. Speaking to the local press, ITI Neovision president Maciej Sokja has said that as it now has 142,253 subscribers and is likely to see the number rise to 300,000 by the end of the year and 500,000 in 2008. By then, it should also have positive EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization). Sojka added that the churn rate for n was an exceptionally low 0.94%, compared to an average of around 10% for European DTH platforms as a whole. While he did not reveal its VOD subscriber total, he did say that around 20% of the platform’s customers had previously received Cyfra+ and between 13-19% Cyfrowy Polsat. The platform will be upgrading its nbox HDTV receiver and nbox HDTV recorder in June and July respectively. It will also be introducing a new service named nradio, giving subscribers access to a large number of Internet radio stations.
