Domalice and environs will be the first part of the Czech Republic to go all-digital when it switches off its analogue transmitters on August 31. According to local reports, the Czech Telecom Office (CTU) has agreed on the date, which was originally expected to be at the end of June. Following switch off, viewers will only be able to watch terrestrial channels with set-top boxes typically costing around CZK1,500 (€ 53.2) or TV sets in inbuilt receivers. The transition to digital should be completed in the Czech Republic in 2010.
