The US investment company CME has entered into talks on a potential takeover of the Belgrade-based station TV Avala. According to local reports, it is willing to pay up to €15 million for the station, which is one of five in Serbia with a national licence and eight months after its launch commands a market share of 3%. Serbia’s Privatisation Agency has meanwhile published prospectuses of the local TV stations Niska Televizija and TV Cacak, which are based in the cities of Nis and Cacak respectively. Niska Televizija, 70% of which is up for sale, has assets of €174,390 and TV Cacak around €170,731.
