According to Marco Visser, the MD Mobile of the Dutch incumbent telco and DVB-T operator KPN, the company is putting back the launch of its mobile TV service until 2008.
Visser was speaking whilst on a visit to the R&D labs of the telecoms vendor Huawei in Shanghai. Huawei will supply the core of KPN’s all-IP fibre/VDSL network, which by 2011 should have replaced Holland’s existing telephony network.
As previously announced, the technical platform for DVB-H should still be ready in the second half of this year.
