Dutch incumbent telecom operator KPN said it had 296,000 TV customers at March 30, 2007. Almost all of these are DTT homes subscribing to the Digitenne DTT service. Some 4,000 are believed to be KPN Mine homes, the company’s IPTV service.
The Digitenne DTT network now reaches 58% of the country and full coverage is expected by the end of the year, according to KPN CEO Ad Scheepbouwer.
The operator plans to roll out a DVB-H network later this year, but cites negotiations with handset manufacturers over the exact specifications of the receivers as having delayed the actual launch date.
