Telecom Italia has posted revenues of €57.6 million for Q1 2007, or 31.5% more than in the corresponding period in 2006. At the same time, its EBITDA of -€11 million was up by 60.7% on a year earlier. Growth was particularly noticeable in DTT revenues, which went up by 132.1% to €12.3 million. EBITDA in the DTT sector meanwhile rose by 77.1% to -€3.6 million, and EBIT increased by 51.6% to -€10.4 million. The telco’s performance in the DTT sector reflected higher pay-per-view revenues and margins, EDITDA in their case being a positive €1.1 million in Q1 2007 as opposed to -€7.9 million a year earlier. Telecom Italia also noted higher sales of digital bandwidth as a network operator in Q1 2007 and saw its multimedia platform Qoob TV notch up 200,000 unique users in February alone.
