Bulgaria’s leading MSO CableTel has revealed further expansion plans. Speaking to the local press, its chief executive Ron Finley said it is looking to buy operators in the Serbian cities of Belgrade and Novi Sad to add to the 13 recently acquired in Macedonia. A move into both Albania and Turkey can also be expected. CableTel has been in the headlines for all the right reasons in recent weeks. Besides buying a leading rival (Evrotur, operating under the brand name EstNet and effectively the country’s number two operator), it is rapidly upgrading its infrastructure around the country to start offering such additional services as HDTV, VOD and PVR within the next two years.
