The long drawn-out sale of the Bulgarian telco BTC has finally been concluded. Reports indicate that a 65% stake in the company has been sold by Novatur to the AIG Global Investment Group for €1.08 billion, with the deal to be officially signed on June 11. AIG is also engaged in talks to buy a further 25% in the telco. Novator is an investment group controlled by the Icelandic entrepreneur Thor Bjorgolsson and it had until earlier this week been thought its stake in BTC would be sold to either Türkcell, Oger Telecom, Mid Europa Partners or Texas Pacific Group/Warburg Pincus.
