The launch of the Ariane 5 rocket scheduled to carry Astra 1L and Intelsat’s Galaxy 17 has been postponed for 24-hours. The mission has now been rescheduled for a second launch window at 22.29 GMT this evening (Friday).
High altitude winds over French Guiana led to meteorologists posting a Red forecast that exceeded safety margins. Although it was raining during the original launch window this did not impact on the decision as Ariane 5 is capable of launching in the rain.
