Spacecom has completed the final funding round for the Amos-3 satellite, scheduled to launch in the fourth quarter of 2007. The US$33 million funding round was completed with the support of institutional investors on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
The funding will enable Spacecom to complete the launch program and pay its main contractor on the project, Israel Aerospace Industries’ (IAI) MBT Space Division.
Amos-3 has already sold more than 50% of its capacity. The new satellite will be co-located at four degrees West and will enable trans-Atlantic connectivity between the Middle East, Europe, and the East coast of the United States.
