According to a report published by IAB Polska and based on the findings of Megapanel PBI/Gemius, there were a total of 13.1 million Internet users in Poland aged 7+ as of the end of 2006. On average, they used the Internet for 25 to 30 hours a month, with over 60% accessing it on a daily basis. Internet ad spend is also growing in the country, up by 60% in 2006 to PLN215 million (€57.02 million) excluding barter deals and equivalent to 3.9% of total ad spend. It is also projected to reach PLN305 million this year. However, broadband Internet penetration in Poland – 4.5 per 100 inhabitants – remains the third lowest in the EU, being only ahead of Greece and Slovakia and far short of the EU average of 15.
