The France Telecom-backed Polish incumbent telco TPSA ended Q1 2007 with 1,809,000 broadband subscribers, or 37.1% more than a year earlier. Of these, the vast majority (1,760,000) were ADSL, with the remainder Bitstream access (42,000) and SDI (7,000). At the same time, the company’s revenues in Q1 2007 were up 7.4% year-on-year to PLN1.860 billion (€491.9 million). Although TPSA has been hit by offers based on Bitstream access launched earlier this year by the alternative telcos Netia and GTS Enegis, with three new competitors expected to enter the market shortly, it still expects to have over 2.2 million broadband subscribers by the end of this year.
