According to local reports, the incumbent Czech telco Telefonica O2 made a profit of CZK2.16 billion (€77.07 million) in Q1 2007, or 5% more than in the corresponding period in 2006. At the same time, its sales rose by 1.9% to CZK15.1 billion. The figures were in part influenced by the launch of a mobile operation in Slovakia this February, which already has over 400,000 subscribers and provided revenues of at least CZK300 million in the first quarter. Telefonica O2 posted 500,000 ADSL subscribers in the Czech Republic earlier this month, while its IPTV service O2 TV now has at least 20,000 customers.
