Digital switchover in the German speaking parts of Switzerland is progressing according to plan. Analogue transmissions in most of German-speaking Switzerland are scheduled to be switched off by the end of November with just one ‘canton’, Oberwallis, to switch over in February 2008.
Broadcaster SRG SSR/Idee Suisse plans to bring the last major DTT transmitter on air at the end of May, by that time SRG’s channels SF1, SF2, TSR1 and TSI1 will be available to most of German-speaking households. After bringing the DTT transmitters on air analogue broadcasts will be switched off region by region.
