The Slovak Ministry of Transport, Posts and Telecommunications has announced that it is prepared to sell its 34% stake in Slovak Telekom. The incumbent telco currently lists Deutsche Telekom as its majority 51% shareholder, with the National Property Fund owning the remaining 15%. Its interests include the recently launch TV-via-ADSL service Magio, which is available to a potential 100,000 homes in the capital, Bratislava. The ministry’s decision to sell its stake is believed to have been influenced by pressure from the European Commission.
