The incumbent Latvian telco Lattelcom has opted for Orca Interactive’s RIGHTv middleware for its MPEG-4-based IPTV service. Lattelecom is 49% indirectly owned by TeliaSonera and already lists the Israel-based company as one of its suppliers, with others including WideVine (conditional access), Kreatel (set-top boxes) and Hannu Pro (systems integration). As of the end of 2006 the telco had 106,000 ADSL Internet subscribers, of whom 45,000 received its IPTV service, accessible through the apollo.lv site. The total number of telephony customers meanwhile stood at 605,000.
