German language Eurosport has launched a streaming webTV service for its three channels Eurosport, Eurosport 2 and Eurosportnews. Viewers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland are able to download the special Eurosport player to watch live streams of all three channels on the web.
The player will be offered as a pay service, at an initial cost of €4.90 a month or €39.90 for a 12 month subscription. After three months the prices will rise to €9.90 per month or €99.90 for a year. The two main channels are available in the German language version, Eurosportnews is available only in English.
Eurosport claims to be the only German language sports channel to be available across all platforms; satellite (analogue and digital), cable (analogue and digital), DTT, IP-TV (T-Home) and on mobile TV (Vodafone). Web streaming has also been added to the eurosport.de website. Apart from the live stream the site also offers on-demand content including interviews, news and highlights.
