WRN has extended its digital distribution of its German language channel to the Astra satellite platform at 19.2 degrees East. WRN Deutsch will launch its new feed on April 5. A period of simulcast will follow until June 5, when the existing analogue feed on the satellite will be switched off.
WRN Deutsch broadcasts the German language programmes of international broadcasters including China Radio International, Radio Romania International, Voice of Russia, Korea’s KBS World Radio and Vatican Radio. WRN also runs stations in English, French, Russian and Arabic.
The existing digital feed on the Eutelsat Hotbird remains unaffected by the change and the station can continue to be heard on its FM channel in Berlin, Worldspace, and the WRN website.
The new co-ordinates are 12.633GHz H; symbol rate 22.000; FEC 5/6.
