According to data produced by AGB Nielsen Media Research, the public broadcaster TVP was the most watched station in Poland in Q1 2007. Its first national channel TVP1 commanded an audience share of 24.38% among viewers aged 4+ and 21.34% of those in the 16-49 age group, while TVP2 claimed 18.85% and 17.56% respectively. However, figures for both channels were down on the corresponding quarter in 2006. The national commercial station was Polsat meanwhile ahead of its rival TVN in both age groups (16.69% v 16.26%, and 19.65% v 17.08%) in Q1 2007. The most watched thematic channel in Q1 2007 was TVN24, with respective shares of 2.63% (4+) and 1.96% (16-49). The children’s channel MiniMini was the next most popular in the 4+ age group (0.67%) and music channel Viva (0.77%) among those aged 16-49. Significantly, the combined audience figure for all TVPs channels in both age groups was still between 45-50%.
