Spanish entertainment channel Cuatro is the latest broadcaster to establish a presence on the YouTube portal. The network will screen clips of some of its most popular programmes as it looks to build a younger audience for its output.
Earlier this month the BBC struck a deal with YouTube to carry content both inside and outside the UK.
“With a community of millions of young users on line, YouTube is a perfect platform to reach new viewers,” said Cuatro director of content Elena Sanchez.
Sogecable-owned Cuatro is Spain’s sixth most popular TV channel. It launched in 2005 using analogue capacity previously occupied by pay-TV network Canal+. (JC)
