OpenTV has reported a record growth in revenues driven by a 30% increase in revenues from its applications business. The middleware company has already seen benefits from last year’s acquisition by Kudelski, a recent deal with the French cablenet Numericable, seeing OpenTV middleware sit alongside the Kudelski conditional access technology. Significant deals have also been reached with customers in India, China and the United States.
Revenues for the year-ending December 31, 2006 were $101.9 million, an increase of 17% on the previous 12 months, leading to an EBITDA of $3.9 million, compared to a loss of $0.7 million in 2005. The net loss for the full year, including $3.4 million of share compensation expenses, was $8.5 million.
