CNBC Europe has extended its contract with Arqiva to provide a satellite communications system between its six studio facilities. The studios in Brussels, Frankfurt, Zurich, Amsterdam, Madrid and Oxford are connected through a VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) network enabling the live interviews to be included in the broadcasts.
The transmissions travel from the CNBC studios via the Telstar 12 satellite (15 degrees West) to Arqiva’s UK teleport in Chalfont for onward distribution over fibre to CNBC’s London headquarters. The network will be controlled by CNBC from its studios in Fleet Place. (JC)
