Multichoice is extending its new 14-channel digital TV package into Uganda for a monthly sh46,000 (€20.34). DStv compact is being launched at a time when Multichoice is facing new competition in East Africa from Gateway Communications, which believes it can establish itself with a moderately priced package.
The Multichoice pitch is to reach a market that was looking for a more affordable option as well as those who believed that busy schedules meant they could not get value for money from the existing 40-channel premium package.
The new bouquet includes Hallmark, Africa Magic, CNN, SABC, Channel O, BBC Prime and MNet Series.
