Sky Digital has extended its remote record feature to the Internet. Viewers with Sky+ and Sky HD boxes will now be able to arrange for programmes to be recorded at home from in front of their PC.
Remote record is free to use, though viewers must first register their box on the Sky website. It is then possible to access Sky’s seven-day TV guide and select programmes with a few clicks of the mouse. The functionality is part of the feature set of the NDS digital video recorder technology.
Last year Sky introduced the functionality that enabled viewers to book programmes from their mobile phone either via SMS or mobile internet. (JC)
