Poland’s third leading MSO Multimedia Polska has acquired a smaller operator named Automatic Service for PLN56.5 million (€14.5 million). The deal will allow Multimedia Polska to enter several markets in central and northern parts of the country it is not already present in. Automatic Service currently has around 39,000 subscribers to its cable TV and Internet access services. Multimedia Polska, on the other hand, had 767,800 RGUs as of Q3 2006. Separately, Poland’s TVN has announced better than expected results for Q4 2006, with a consolidated net profit of PLN128.10 million and net income of PLN405.8 million. It has also predicted that the TV ad market in Poland will grow by 10% this year. (CD)
