Two further Discovery Networks channels – Discovery Science and Discovery Civilisation – have made their debuts in Poland. With Discovery History and Discovery HD also having been introduced late last year, the total number of Discovery services now available in the country stands at seven. Separately, the Polish incumbent telco has announced that it has lost 30,000 subscribers to its broadband Internet service Neostrada since January 15. This follows a ruling by the Office of Electronic Communications (UKE) on the way the service is packaged. Although most of these subscribers have or are planning to move to the alternative telcos Netia and GTS Energis, TPSA remains by far the largest supplier of ADSL Internet access in Poland, with around 1.7 million as of Q4 2006.
