The Turkish DTH platform Digiturk has chosen the RealNetworks subsidiary WiderThan’s video service platform to offer VOD on multiple devices. Digitürk, which made its debut in 2000, is owned by Cukorova Holding and currently has around one million subscribers. Separately, Turkey’s leading mobile company Turkcell has announced that its subscriber total as of December 31, 2006 stood at 31.8 million, or 14% more than 12 months earlier. Turkcell is a joint venture between Cukorova Holding and Finland’s Sonera and competes with Telsim and Türk Telekom-backed Avea. (CD)
