Canal+ Cyfrowy has secured carriage for four of its channels – Kuchnia.tv, MiniMini , ZigZap and Planete – on UPC Poland’s cable networks. Kuchnia,tv, which is Poland’s first ever cookery channel, made its debut in 2006 and currently has 1.9 million subscribers. Along with the children’s channel MiniMini, which is received in 3.1 million homes, it will be introduced on all of UPC Poland’s networks at the same time. ZigZap (aimed at children aged 10-15, 2.1 million subscribers), will meanwhile be offered in Warsaw and Kraków, and Planete (documentary, 2.8 million subscribers) will see its present distribution on UPC extended to a further 16 locations. Separately, the telco Datera has become the first VoIP provider in Poland to sign up to TeleArena. TeleArena is a platform that links several European telcos including GTS Energis, Netia and (as from next month) Deutsche Telekom and allows free calls between its subscribers.(CD)
