The Polish national commercial broadcaster Polsat has acquired the business channel TV Biznes. Although the terms of the deal have not been revealed, it was reported earlier this week, when talks between the two parties were still ongoing, that it could be worth in the region of PLN20-25 million (€5.2-6.5 million). TV Biznes was set up in 2004 and currently commands a national audience share of only 0.01%. Separately, Canal + Cyfrowy, the owner of the Polish DTH platform Cyfra+, has posted improved results for 2006. They show that the company made a net profit of PLN150 million on revenues of PLN850 million, while its EBIT amounted to PLN196 million. Cyfra+ itself ended the year with 917,000 subscribers.(CD)
