Sky Italia improved its second quarter figures, reducing its operating loss to $12 million, compared to $53 million a year ago. The improvement is a reflection of an increase in subscriber additions, which added 432,000 year-on-year, bringing the total to 4.03 million at the end of the quarter. The company added 200,000 on the quarter, although the previous figure of 3,830,000 was recorded at the end of both the September and June quarters.
As with previous financial reports the cost of programming, particularly coverage of Series A and Series B football matches, ate into revenues.
