The Czech mobile operator T-Mobile is reported to be planning to apply for a change in its licence so that it can offer mobile TV services. The company undertook a DVB-H test with 200 customers at the end of last year and found that most watched channels offering news, music and movies. It also found that they were willing to spend around CZK100 (Euro3.6) a month to receive a package of channels and up to CZK8,000 for a mobile TV handset. Like T-Mobile, Telefonica O2 and Vodafone also plan to launch mobile TV services, most probably later this year. Separately, the Czech incumbent telco’s IPTV service O2 TV has officially reached the 20,000 subscriber mark. Of this total, 39% receive its video library service. (CD)
