Ten out of 15 companies that took part in a tender for the construction of wireless and cable distribution systems have been awarded licences by Montenegro’s Broadcasting Agency. Broadband Montenegro, Telekabl and ELKDS from Pljevlje received wireless system licences, while seven other companies (Elta Mont, PTT In_enjering, Adrienet, Montenegro Kabl, Novi KDS, CATTV, Cabling) also received licences to develop cable systems. However, only the one secured by Broadband Montenegro, which is owned by the Podgorice businessman Veselin Barovic, is national. The licensed operators plan to offer 30-60 TV channels, with a monthly subscription fee of around €5 and connection fee of €50-100. (BP)
