Eutelsat takes Abertis on board

January 23, 2007 17.29 Europe/London By Donald Koeleman

The board at satellite operator Eutelsat Communications has today appointed four new members, following the acquisition of 32% of its share capital by Abertis Telecom.

The Abertis representatives replace board members representing the previous owners of Abertis Eutelsat stake. Abertis Telecom acquired its share of the Paris-based satellite operator from Nebozzo (Texas Pacífic Group and Spectrum), Cinven and Goldman Sachs.

The new appointees are Tobias Martínez (Managing Director, Abertis Telecom), Carlos Espinós (Deputy Managing Director and Commercial and Technology Director, Abertis Telecom), Andrea Luminari (Business Development Director, Abertis Telecom) and Carlos Sagasta (Finance Planning and Control Director, Abertis Telecom).

They replace William Collatos (Senior Managing Director of Spectrum Equity Investors), Geoffrey Fink (Partner of Texas Pacific Group), GSCP 2000 Eurovision Holding Sarl, (represented by Hughes Lepic, Managing Director of Goldman Sachs) and CB Luxembourg III Sarl (represented by Benoît Valentin, Partner of Cinven).
