Euskaltel has announced its ADSL-delivered television service now reaches 46,700 homes, giving it a 54% share of the sector within the Basque region of Spain. The company, which in total has a 27% of the Basque telecommunications market, reported a 35% increase in profits and 6% increase in earnings. Euskaltel declared a profit of €32.5m
Euskaltel is also a leader in broadband delivery. The company has a 44% share of the market through 146,000 lines connected to its optical fibre network in which it has invested heavily. In the past 12 months €136m has been ploughed into a 30,000km extension to its fibre network that now stretches to 255,000km. (JC)
