Poland’s ad market is likely to grow by 9% to PLN6 billion (€1.55 billion) in 2007. The forecast, which has been made by Gazeta Prawna, anticipates that the launch of a new national daily named Polskapresse in the second half of the year will act as a catalyst and overshadow developments in an increasingly competitive TV sector. In the latter, Polsat and News Corp-backed TV Puls will seek to make up ground on TVN, which plans to launch an Internet-delivered news service based on CNN later this year. In other developments, the Polish public broadcaster TVP has finally launched its Internet-delivered interactive service iTVP. Offering all its existing channels, three additional interactive channels and a large library of archive material, it will eventually also be distributed to mobiles and both via DTH and DTT. The research company TNS OBOP is meanwhile reported to have started audience measurements for the DTH platform n. It will also shortly start providing figures for videostrada, the IPTV service launched last year by the France Telecom-backed incumbent telco TPSA. (CD)
