YouView has announced the addition of four so-called device partners, at the same time publishing its final core technical specification.

YouView will today publish the core device specifications that will enable any receiver manufacturer to bring product to market that shares the same underlying technology as YouView itself.

YouView has confirmed that Kip Meek has resigned as non-executive chairman after less than eight months in the role. The former Ofcom executive is being replaced by Lord Sugar, the founder of Amstrad, the set-top box supplier now owned by BSkyB.
