UPC Austria is following in the footsteps of its Swiss counterpart with a 47-channel digital package available free to all subscribers with a cable connection.
The number of VOD videostreams enjoyed by UPC Austria customers increased by 390,000 in the first six months of 2012.
UPC Austria is adding six new HD channels to its line-up. Starting on June 29, RTL Crime HD, Romance TV HD, 3Sat HD, Kika HD, ZDFneo HD and Bayeriche Rundfunk HD are available to HD subscribers.

Following deployment of the CI Plus modules in the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland, UPC Austria has now also started offering CI Plus to its digital TV subscribers.

Starting Monday, October 3, UPC customers in Vienna, Graz and Klagenfurt can subscribe to premium packages within Sky Deutschland’s Austrian bouquets.

UPC Austria has introduced a new app for the iPhone that enables subscribers to preview on demand content on the iPhone and iPad.

UPC Austria has reached digital penetration of over 50% of all households on the UPC Telekabel network in Vienna, the cableco announced on Thursday. This compares with 17% digital cable penetration of all Austrian cable households, including IPTV homes.
