CI Plus back with the DVB

The DVB Project is to take responsibility for the CI Plus common interface standard, following a recommendation from the organisation’s steering board. The vote removes one of the major concerns held by operators considering the adoption of the technology, who feared they did not have enough input on its future development.
DVB approves 3DTV specifications

The DVB Technical Module has given its approval to the DVB-3DTV specification. The Phase 1, frame compatible, system will allow viewers to keep and use their current set-top box, in line with plans put forward by broadcasters including BSkyB and Canal+, though requiring them to purchase a new 3D compatible television display.
CI Plus set for DVB return

The CI Plus organisation has been holding discussions with the DVB Project with a view to the Geneva-based organisation once more fostering the technology.
