KPN acquires Dutch cabler Caiway

Dutch incumbent telecom operator KPN will acquire Caiway, Holland’s fourth largest cable operator with 158,000 homes connected. The move marks a return by KPN to the cable business and needs to be approved by the regulators.

Three Penthouse HD channels for Caiway

Dutch cable operator Caiway has announced it has started to carry all three Penthouse HD channels in a special Select Penthouse HD package.

After ASO, CAIWay adds 11 HD channels

CAIWay, Holland’s fourth largest cable operator, will completely switch off its analogue bouquet this Sunday, October 10. With the newly available spectrum, the cablenet will add up to 11 new HD channels, making it the largest HD offer in the country.

Dutch cablers take Eredivisie Live HD

Dutch cable operators Ziggo, Caiway and UPC, as well as the FTTH provider Glashart Media, have started carrying the live football channel Eredivisie Live HD on their networks. Negotiations are still under way with the IPTV platforms KPN and Tele 2 and DTH service Canal Digitaal.

SBS takes Net 5 to HD

SBS Broadcasting has announced that its Net 5 channel will launch a HD version on the Caiway cable network next week. In January, SBS will also launch an HD version of Veronica, with its flagship channel SBS6 following at a later date.

Caiway introduces CI Plus modules

The Dutch cable operator Caiway has become the second in the country to introduce CI Plus on its network. It has started to sell to sell stand-alone CI Plus modules from its shops and selected retailers for €49.00.

Rekam and Caiway plan analogue switch-off

The Dutch cable operators Rekam and Caiway have become the first in the country to plan a complete analogue switch-off. They announced their plans during a meeting of the programme councils on Saturday, October 3.
