Patty has worked for more than 25 years in the international television business including at MTV Europe, TV10, NPO, JE Entertainment, Endemol, IdtV, Initiative Media and Absolutely Independent. Absolutely Independent, a company she founded in 1996 and owns, has won several international awards for its formats, which include Find my Family and The Phone.
Patty is also chairman of the worldwide organisation FRAPA (Format Recognition & Protection Association) and a member of the Academy of Arts & Science (the organiser of the International Emmy Awards). She has been a jury member of the International Emmy Awards; Rose D’Or; Banff Festival; and TVLab, and has organised the semi-finals jury of the International Emmy Awards in Amsterdam.
In 2010 and 2011 Patty was named one of the 10 most influential women in the media in the Netherlands (source: ‘Opzij’ Magazine 2010). She frequently lectures for the Entertainment Master Class and is a frequent keynote speaker at several international events. She is also a guest lecturer at Dutch universities.
