The Slovak national commercial broadcaster Joj is planning to expand its online video presence by launching a new VOD service in 2018.
According to Medialne, it will provide offer proprietary content from Joj, including older productions no longer available in the Joj.sk video archive, as well as movies to rent.
It adds that the service will be available through a new version of the site Videoportal.sk, featuring a modern and minimalist design. Videos will be available in HD quality and an HTML5 player will be used to make playback easier on mobile devices.
Joj already has a strong online presence through such sites as the motoring-based Autofans.sk and lifestyle Style.sk.
It also plans to add a number of new TV channels to its growing portfolio of services in the near future.
