Dutch operators report slow HD take-up

Dutch cable and DTH operators are reporting a slow take-up of HD subscriptions. Based on figures presented by Ziggo and Canal Digitaal, Broadband TV News now estimates the total number of actual HD homes in The Netherlands to be between 80,000 and 85,000.

RTBF set to change Astra for Hot Bird

The Belgian public service broadcaster RTBF is set to leave Astra for Hot Bird, according to the French industry newsletter TeleSatellite. Broadcasting since November 2001 on Astra at 19.2 degrees East, RTBF Sat and radio RTBF International are moving to the Eutelsat Hot Bird (13 degrees East).
