Samsung Eelectronics has launched a dedicated 3D VOD streaming service in Korea in order to give 3D a boost. The consumer electronics manufacturer has also announced the service will be launched in the US and Europe later this year.
Sharp’s Aquos Net+ joins Viewster VOD
VOD service Diva Viewster is to be made available by Sharp to owners of its connected TVs, BluRay players and other devices via its Aquos Net+ platform. Content will be available on a transactional basis, by subscription and selected titles free of charge.

Vodafone Germany launches hybrid TV platform
Vodafone Germany is rolling out its Vodafone TV service with its hybrid Vodafone TV Center at the heart of the system. The hybrid box allows customers to (continue) to receive analogue cable and digital satellite chanenls alongside Vodafone TV’s IPTV offer. The box will automatically select the best possible reception.
Google TV not yet ready for prime time
Google has asked makers of upcoming Google TV-powered television sets to cancel plans to show off devices at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, as the company is working to refine its software, writes The New York Times.

KIT digital has secured a contract to provide streaming services to the Czech national public broadcaster CT.
