The board of directors of Spanish cable operator ONO has approved providing funds worth €200 million from shareholders through a shareholder loan as part of a refinancing plan for the company.
PrimaCom looking for fresh investors
German cable operator PrimaCom is looking for fresh money as its owner, Luxembourg based investment firm Escaline, is in heavy debt. According to German press reports, both Versatel and Unitymedia have shown an interest in acquiring the cabler.
Kabel Deutschland IPO on March 22
Germany’s biggest cabler Kabel Deutschland KDG plans to raise about €700 million in an initial public offering scheduled on March 22, according to a prospectus that has just been published.
Meo keeps customers on the line
Portugal Telecom has pointed to the success of its Meo IPTV platform as the key factor in the turnaround of its wireline business. The fourth quarter saw gross profit increase by 0.4% year-on-year, the best performance for 19 quarters.
Digital TV revenues outstrip analogue
Cable Congress 2010 – Brussels. The annual Cable Congress opened today on a highly positive note with an overall revenue growth of 3%, €17.9 billion up from €17.4 billion in 2008.
Pace profits jump four-fold

Increased subscriber revenues and new digital services including Foot+ on XBox, Canal+ on iPhone, and Le Cube hybrid receiver helped Canal+ Group grow both revenues and subscribers during 2008.
