Chellomedia’s Dutch premium channels Film1 and Sport1 have announced a 7% growth in subscriber numbers bringing the total to 490,000 for the year ended December 2011.
Dutch digital TV penetration reaches 72.9%
Digital television now reaches 72.9% of all Dutch homes, according to the latest Media Standard Survey from TNS NIPO. A total of 35% own a hard disk recorder.
Big triple play gains for Ziggo
56.3% of Ziggo’s customer base is now buying broadband access from the operator, while 44.9% take telephony and 43.2% are All-in-1 bundle subscribers.
UPC, KPN asked to block The Pirate Bay
Stichting Brein, the Dutch organisation fighting piracy of music and videos, has told UPC and KPN to block access to The Pirate Bay. The move follows a Dutch court ruling that ISPs Ziggo and Xs4all have to block the site.
Strong TV gains for KPN
Dutch incumbent telecom provider KPN has said it added 84,000 new customers to its IPTV service during Q4 last year.
