Levente Málnay is the CEO of AMC Networks International – Central Europe and responsible for the management and P/L of the company’s regional channel portfolio of 13 brands.
Levente started his career as a freelance sportcaster for Hungarian State Television. He joined the pay movie channel HBO in 1991 and produced the first standup comedy show in Hungary in 1995 for HBO. In 1997, as MD, he launched the first Hungarian music television station Z+, which was acquired by VIVA in 2000.
When VIVA was further sold on to MTV Networks in 2003, Levente became VP, MTV Networks Emerging Markets. In this role he developed the MTV channel portfolio throughout Central Europe, including the launch of MTV Hungary and Comedy Central Hungary.
In 2003 he received the Ernst&Young Entrepreneur of the Year “Emerging Entrepreneur” prize – the first time it was awarded in Hungary.
Between 2006 and 2012 he acted as President of the Hungarian Electronic Media Association (MEME), the only local trade organisation representing all leading TV companies.
Levente is a graduate of ELTE Budapest and alumni of Harvard Business School.
