Born in May 1970, Dimitar holds a MA degree from the University of Sofia and MBA degrees from Columbia Business School in New York City and London Business School in London, UK.
After nine years in the regional advertising and consumer electronics industry managing successful organisations for international companies from EURO RSCG to Royal Philips Electronics, Dimitar joined the largest American investor in cable and the liberalising telecom market in Bulgaria in 2003. Soon afterwards he launched the CableTEL company projects, where he advanced from VP, Sales, Marketing and Content to CEO and led the successful growth and strategic sale of the company to EQT.
Following the merger of CableTEL and Eurocom at the end of 2009 Dimitar accepted the challenge of transforming the two cable companies into a next-generation converged media & broadband platform. In his role as Chief Strategy, Marketing and Content Officer he was responsible for the strategic positioning, product and brand transformation. His leadership of the launch of the Blizoo brand platform received international recognition and Dimitar was awarded 2010 European Marketer in Digital TV, as well as two 2011 UK Transform Awards – for business transformation success.
Since 2011 Dimitar has focused on strategy-consulting via his own firm – CFBG, where he is Managing Principal – on emerging digital media & technology opportunities and his active role as President of the Bulgarian Association of Cable Communication Operators (BACCO) – the most respected industry body for the pay-TV and broadband sector in Bulgaria.
